If Chitravimāna Studio were a film, Anup Moray would be its origin story. A man who walks the tightrope between ancient wisdom and modern wonder, Anup is the visionary force behind more than just scripts and storyboards — he's the reason those stories lift off the ground.
Raised in a family where creativity wasn’t learned — it was inherited, Anup often jokes that "imagination runs in our blood faster than red cells." His lineage is filled with artists, performers, writers — almost as if the gods themselves scribbled a divine note that said: “Creativity shall dwell here.”
With 2 commercial feature films, over 25 short films, and more than 2,000 visual projects under his direction, Anup's journey has been nothing short of cinematic itself.
Coming from a family where creativity was more than a talent — it was a divine gift, Anup grew up surrounded by stories, art, and the quiet magic of imagination. It was only natural that his path would lead to filmmaking — not just as a profession, but as a life purpose.
In 2010, he founded Playhouse Media Works — a small but spirited studio, driven by passion and honesty. Armed with a DSLR, raw ambition, and sleepless nights, he began telling stories that felt real, rooted, and emotionally powerful. Over 15 remarkable years, that modest studio grew into a trusted name, delivering films across industries with a signature blend of authenticity and imagination.
In 2025, to celebrate a decade and a half of creative flight, Anup rebranded the legacy as Chitravimāna Studio — a name inspired by Indian wisdom and Vedic imagination.
“Chitra” meaning image, “Vimāna” meaning celestial craft — because our stories don’t just travel, they fly.”
Today, under his leadership, Chitravimāna continues to craft films with emotional resonance, visual depth, and cultural soul. Anup believes in stories that outlast trends and touch hearts — stories that feel ancient and futuristic at once.
